WHO’S TRAVELING?

Lady Elizabeth Craven.

FROM WHERE TO WHERE?

England to Constantinople.

PURPOSE OF TRAVEL:

To record the account of her tour.

MEMORABLE ANCEDOTES AND DETAILS:

Her travelling in comfort, in the luxurious carriages, how the women are dressed, describes the Russian peasant, records the ways of life in Waterloo, talks of slavery in Waterloo, their ways of currency, Captain Pacha's wife and his place of living.

RHETORICAL PURPOSE:

Reveals the scandal between Craven and Lady Montagu.

EMOTIONS RELATED TO TRAVEL:

Enjoyed her time in Constantinople because she lived in leisure.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS:

None.

IMPORTANT QUOTATIONS:

"Their questions were as simple as their dress is studied--Are you married?  Have you children? Have you no disorder? Do you like Constantinople?"

This quote I feel brings light to the fact that Craven thinks herself better than the Turkish women.
