AS A PEER MENTOR IT IS MY DUTY TO:

-Serve as a role model and mentor to first-year students at Otterbein

-Support the mission and goals of the First Year Experience (FYE) program

-Uphold Otterbein policies and procedures outlined in the Student Handbook

-Demonstrate professionalism when working with the Otterbein faculty member, and first-year students

-Be knowledgeable about campus resources and activities and refer students to them

-Attend programs and activities offered to the FYE students

-Read the Common Book

-Facilitate sessions related to campus resources, college transition, academic success, the Common Book, ePortfolio, etc.

-Assist students in the partner FYS course with the development of their ePorfolios

-Make connections with the students outside of class through individual student meetings, attendance at campus events, social media, etc.

-Be knowledgeable and skilled in using campus technology including Blackboard, OZone, ePortfolio, and My Banner

-Attend designated course meetings and support co-curricular aspects of the FYS course
