My FYS course my freshman year as a part of my First Year Experience was FYS 1003: Navigating the Informational World with Dr. Rares Piloiu. Not only does FYE help in and out of the classroom, helping with the transition to Otterbein and growing and expanding personal skills and interests, but it connects you with the entire Otterbein community. Each FYS has a Peer Mentor, your personal guide to campus and campus resources. My Peer Mentor in this course inspired me to become a Peer Mentor myself the following Fall. Not only did I learn skills about effective research, and useful methods of approaching research, but I also learned about Otterbein, how to get involved, and how to use my resources here on campus.
